Cut the cloth that lies on the base with a 45° square and remove the excess. (If you don’t remove this, you’ll have a ridge underneath your base covering material.

Fill in with the appropriately thick paper or card for the cloth (in this case the predetermined single-ply Bristol).

I don’t fill in when using thin cloth. I like a slight inward pull in the tray, so that the final box has a slight inward camber. Thick cloth requires that the bottom of the base is also filled in.

Mark your second tray as you did your first but minus the interior pads of Suedel and the fourth wall.

Add twice the thickness of the outside tray’s interior cloth for the vertical measurement and one cloth thickness for the horizontal dimension.

Then add 0.5mm to each side for ease of opening. (Use a 0.5mm pencil and cut to the outside of the line.) Glue up and cover as you did the interior tray.
